               "Callie" - Terrier Mix
Callie was my constant companion for ten years. A stray, breed unknown, but definitely showing terrier. When I fished, he was in the boat. When hunting deer, elk or birds, he stayed at my heels, all attention, like a bird dog. He lost his cool only once, bolting after a herd of elk we'd crept to within forty yards. I miss him dearly.

               "Wynston" - Welsh Terrier
This shows Wynston’s sensitive side, but he was Hell on garden rabbits and opossums. I never had a coon come around when Wynston was alive. He would wait for the local hawk to take a dove, then chase away the hawk and eat the dove. I miss the Hell out of him. Jeff Bates |

This is Ryley, the most fun-loving and playful pup I have ever seen. He's come close on grey squirrels, but no cigar yet. If he can catch the cottontails that are mowing down my greenbeans and scare away the finches that are making my Swiss Chard look more like Swiss Cheese, I will be a happy man. I am caring for my 14-year-old cattle dog, Robert, who is now blind and deaf. His back legs don't work too well, but his upper body is very strong and still gets around quite well using his sense of smell. He is most definitely my best friend.
